Starpoint
provides essential services to two vulnerable populations: kids,
prenatal through five years of age, and their families, and adults
with cognitive and physical challenges. We have been providing
services and supports to individuals, families, and communities
in Fremont, Chaffee, and Custer Counties since 1977. We began
providing adult services in Front Range communities in 2001.
As
a result of our mission to serve children, 0-3, with disabilities,
we have become the fiscal anchor of a collaborative network of
early childhood programs that serve ALL children, 0-5.
We
are leaders in the Self-Determination movement in Colorado, which
puts adult consumers, their families and advocates in central
decision making roles regarding program design and implementation.
As
one of the top ten employers in Fremont County, we operate an
annual budget of nearly $11 million, employing approximately 300
people and serving over 1200 individuals annually.

KITTIE ROBINSON
1. What prompted you to become involved with Starpoint?
An ad in the newspaper…it was after Hurricane Katrina and I joined Red Cross. My husband said, “If you’re well enough to join Red Cross, why don’t you get a job?” So I did.
2. How long have you worked at Starpoint?
Five years. No experience was needed – I could clean and care for kids.
3. What positions have you held at Starpoint?
Sub in day and preschool rooms, bus aid and now front desk/receptionist at SPIN Preschool, 1333 Elm.
4. What hobbies/pastimes do you enjoy?
Embroidery, crocheting and camping.
5. Your favorite “words of wisdom?”
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart.
6. A word or phrase that best describes you?
Kind and honest.
7. Pet peeve?
Crusty elbows.
8. What makes you smile?
Children…babies…nature.
9. If you could trade places with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Thanks, but no thanks. I’m happy with what the Lord gave me and where he put me.
10. Family/other information you’d like to share.
I’m married; we have combined 5 children, 7 grandchildren and one more on the way. We’ve been married 26 years – third time’s a charm! |
