Teen Parent Education and Support Group

PIPE (Partners in Parenting Education)
PIPE is a teen parenting class that focuses on the emotional bond between teen parents and their baby. Classes are delivered using the How To Read Your Baby curriculum which was designed specifically for teen parents. The class is available to teen parents with newborns to 3 year olds. Children attend the class with their parents so that they can engage in activities together. Classes are held each semester and run for 15 weeks. Teens may qualify for high school credit.

Teen Parent Support Group
Teen Parenting support group meetings are held on a regular basis at Canon City, Garden Park and Florence High Schools. This peer to peer support group is facilitated by a home visitor fromt he Family Center staff. Child growth and development, health, nutrition, safety and parenting information are shared during these informal meetings. Call 719-269-1523 for additional details.
