Early Parenting Teen Support & Education Groups
Teen
Stork Club
Pregnant teens are invited to attend this group that meets every 2nd
and 4th Tuesday from 4:00-5:00 p.m. This group provides prenatal information
and support in a peer setting. Topics included are Infant CPR, Car Seat
Safety, and What to expect at the hospital during and after the birth
of your baby.
PIPE
(Partners in Parenting Education)
PIPE is a teen parenting class that focuses on enhancing the emotional
bond between teen parents and their baby. It is designed for teen parents
to attend class their babies, birth through 15 months of age. Each class
is 15 weeks long and is offered in the spring and fall. Teens may qualify
for high school credit.
Teen
Parenting Group
Teen Parenting group meets twice a month with pregnant and parenting
teens at Canon City High School, Garden Park High School, and Florence
High School. Child development, health, safety, and parenting information
is shared during this class.
Baby
and Me
This Teen parenting support group meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday
from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Teen parents may experience additional support in
an informal and relaxed setting. Activities included in this class are
crafts and baby playgroups. Childcare is provided at no cost.
